Meet Katie

Katie Luce | Photographer
I love my dog and I love playing with my camera. Nothing brings me more joy than these two loves. They help me practice patience, discipline, and empathy and they inspire me to be courageous, kind, and leave this world better than I found it.
History:
I have been practicing photography since 2008 first as a hobby and then as a professional.

Between 2008 and 2014, I pursued a career in Marketing. I worked with small business owners, the media, other professional photographers, visual marketing professionals, and consumers learning that relationships are the key to success. I also took every opportunity to practice photography in the roles I played in various positions and as a result got experience conducting, producing, and managing photoshoots and a team of visual professionals.
In 2014 I joined the photography team for an auction company in Fairfield, Maine. As one of two full-time photographers I helped produce images for 6-8 high end auction catalogues per year. Completing more than 10,000 shots per year of widely varying items gave me valuable new experience on how to light, position, and capture objects of all shapes, sizes, finishes, and value. From antique weapons to stunning jewelry, I amassed an extensive, well-rounded, portfolio.

In 2018 the auction company closed and practicing photography became a hobby/side hustle again. I'm always grateful to earn money to feed my dog using this skill that I have been practicing for more than a decade but it is never a requirement.
